Yummy Burgers

   

You will need:

Method

Caramalised onion (see below)
Smoked Dutch Cheese
Tomato Relish
Rocket - handful
4 Panini Rolls - cut in half and buttered

Burger Ingredients
1 Kg beef mince

1 teaspoon cracked pepper
1/4 cup breadcrumbs
1 tablespoon Italian herbs (dried)
2 tablespoons Dujon mustard
Crushed garlic
3 eggs

Caramalised Onions
2 large brown onions finely diced
1/4 cup brown sugar
2 tablespoons of butter
3 tablespoons balsamic vinegar

Sautee onions in the butter, add sugar and vinegar and cook on medium heat until sticky.

Mix together and portion into 4 large patties or 8 small ones. I like to steam them first to remove any excess fat. So steam patties for 10 minutes. Place in a hot frying pan with 2 teaspoons of rice bran oil. Turn, browning both sides.

Once the burger is hot, lightly toast Panini roll. Spread tomato relish on bottom, then place burger on. Add the cheese and caramelised onions. Place a small handful of rocket on top and put the roll lid on. I like to serve with onion rings.
